Dad (Brett)
All around rockstar geek. Brett enjoys his job as a Clinical Data Manager (helping research medical breakthroughs at Celgene); in his time off he enjoys reading books, watching movies, and learning new tricks on his camera and in Photoshop. He absolutely adores his wife and 2 daughters.

Mom (Erin)
Complete supermom. Erin loves her job as a Youth Field Researcher (aka 'mother'); in her plentiful spare time (ha!) she enjoys sleeping, re-reading Twilight or Harry Potter, and cuddling with Brett.

Aeriana ('Wacko', 'Princess')
Hybrid Angel/Devil. Aeriana loves her mommy and daddy, each of whom she loves to test at times and pretend innocence at others. A veritable sponge, Aeriana wants to do anything she sees an adult doing; she loves babies and especially adores her little sister, taking great care of her every need.

Zoe Jean ('Stinker', 'Cutie')
Growing fast, Zoe wants to be just like her big sister. Very goal oriented, she'll find a way to get that toy she's been looking at. She loves her pacifier and can't help but snuggle up to her blanket. Zoe is as relaxed as they come, she just loves chillin' out and watching TV.

Books, Books, Books

It's almost not fair; finding a series/author that just sucks you in should only happen occasionally, giving you a chance to catch up on things other than reading (as lame of a concept as that is). Unfortunately, just shortly after getting sucked into Stephanie Meyer's world, Erin and I were introduced to another amazing author; and coincidentally enough, he's also LDS.

Brandon Sanderson currently has three books published and one on the way next month, as well as a free one online. They are fantasy novels, so they won't be for everyone, but if your curious I highly recommend them.

We first got sucked into the Mistborn series (the third of the series being the one that comes out in October). Mistborn starts off exciting and just gets better and better. As I told Matt, these books must have some illicit substances in them to be so addicting.

Elantris is Sanderson's first published novel and I'm about 2/3 of the way through... this one didn't start off with as much of a bang as Mistborn, but was still pretty intriguing; again the book just gets better and better the deeper into it I get.

Warbreaker is free online, for now. Sanderson is making his drafts for the book available online to help spread awareness of his work. It's in its sixth draft so it's not too rough, but there are still a number of things (ranging from typos to plot holes) that will hopefully be fixed before this is actually published; unfortunately you either have to print it out or read it on the computer.

I would actually recommend not reading Warbreaker now unless you have read Sanderson's other stuff and just can't wait (like me); I always like to hold off for the final product if my willpower allows (which it obviously didn't). Either way, it was a fantastic read, the Mistborn series is still my favorite of Sanderson's, but Elantris and Warbreaker aren't far behind.

Sometimes I wish I could quite my job and just read books all day... did I just say 'sometimes'??? Make that 'Always'.

P.S. As a reminder for those book lovers, check out librarything.com. It's the coolest.

UPDATE: Erin was reading Mistborn tonight when it came time for us to read scriptures, she put down her book and sat with me as we started reading from Jacob chapter 5... about half way through the first verse she started laughing. Apparently Mistborn had sucked her in so deep that even after switching to the scriptures she was still expecting the Mistborn story to go on and Jacob's words just didn't mesh with the writing style she was expecting. Illicit substances indeed.

Excellent, I need a new book series. I'm so sad that the Twilight saga is over and now I can't think of anything that I want to read ... so maybe I will try out this Brandon Sanderson guy. Thanks for the suggestion!

YOU"RE IN TROUBLE --- I thought there would be some precious pictures of my precious granddaughter. Who cares about books when I'm missing Aeriana? (I'll be sure to have Riley look into these books.)

GWA-HA-HA-HA! My plan worked perfectly. Now I just have to be the only one to own Mistborn 3, and you'll have to come visit to get it! Hee hee hee!! So, I think it's eye crack in the pages... that's why you can't stop reading them.
